Windy but not-too-cold day by the East River. Shot a couple of my brightest items by the river, including my flatform neon sandals that I've missed! They're a bit chunky and it's hard to keep balance though :[

Beanie, big jacket, sunnies to hide my poofy face and weird heels kinda day (Sunday). These heels make my legs so 10x longer than they actually are (thankfully, because I paired them with my cropped, leg-truncating sweatpants that have pockets...). Rainbow tank top slash pretending it's spring weather already (it's not, trust me). Fuzzy velour jacket from the thrift shop and boxed, beaded micro bag.

I guess the whole "lingerie as outerwear" trend is way too last year but I've always thought Rumi Neely pioneered the whole look quite nicely eons ago... Needless to say that I've found lacey slips and satin-y numbers (like the one pictured here) to be good for layering when a tunic-dress doesn't quite hit the right length. This tunic is my XL find from a Chelsea Salvation Army 3 years ago for <$10 (I love thrifting yes pleaseee)! It's got the perfect flappy laser-cut sleeves and hem and a fun print, as well as an accordion pleat running through the whole thing making it ... expandable.

Burgundy sweater layered over my rainbow shirt for an "I'm not trying" look, except I really tried!Ugh. Do you ever wake up on weekends feeling like your wardrobe is way too boring and old? That's how I felt on Saturday with my newly imposed shopping ban still in full force :[ But hey I got to re-wear my favorite shirt and stay pseudo-warm in this layered look. Thank you NYC weather gods for faux-spring weather including full-on sunshine!!

Not much to write here besides Happy (belated) Valentine's Day! Bought myself a fluffy sponge / yogurt cake and celebrated with my best friend by dressing up like a gypsy fairy and sipping some homemade red and white strawberry sangria a la mason jars (ie. frozen strawberries + cheap wine hobo style). Worked wonders. Sometimes a laid-back night is all you need, especially considering how frigid and slushy it is outside. Also notice the egg tray being used as storage for my jewelry. Loveee it.
PS sorry if the coloring looks funky / tinted! Camera's pretty old now and doesn't do so well with indoor lighting... if any of you have tips I'd be more than grateful to hear!!

I was about to walk out of my apartment in an all-black outfit when I decided I looked absolutely too morbid for a Saturday afternoon. Spotted my $5 kaleidoscope scarf amongst a heap of clothes on the couch and decided that it'd be perfect for a DIY skirt. The scarf is a large square one; I folded it diagonally and tied it around a couple of times, finishing with a simple knot in the front. So hobo. But seriously, you should try it with your favorite square scarf, makes for significant outfit versatility. And by that I mean you can just wear your favorite colors more often. Ha.
