i don't know if it's the coffee for work this week or the consistently +80 degree weather (with humidity i might add) here in nyc, but i haven't really been able to sleep lately. ie i've been playing dressup in front of my narrow mirror in my 70 sqft room at 2 or 3am, digging through my tiny closet and seeing what hidden treasures i can find. came across a pretty cool $5 marc jacobs shirt and suddenly realized that i don't know how to wear t-shirts anymore. i really don't. i stopped wearing these in high school because they weren't dress code (hello catholic high school) and were so...middle school. back then anyway. plus it's hard for me to think of teeshirts as anything besides pjs and frumpy gym contenders against tanks.
needless to say, a good 5 minutes later i threw together a potential look for that tee shirt. pair with a basic black mini, some clunky/clumsy/chunky boots for some edge....throw on a few chains, pile on some shiny rings, bam. outfit picking simplified to the max. nothing too new but definitely will help me dress myself on weekends. if only i could wear this to work...haha (dress code is business casual, not corporate slutty as my boss from last year liked to call it).
another note: these are by far my favorite wedge platform boots ever. $50 from payless, alice and olivia, comfy, and i can run in them. what a steal. i've been meaning to stud some of the straps on them to make sure i can still get my creative juices going and diy , but couldn't figure if that would make it less versatile.... any thoughts?
and here are the beloved alice and olivia madison biker boots (img from stylehive, batteries died on me while taking these)
