I was about to walk out of my apartment in an all-black outfit when I decided I looked absolutely too morbid for a Saturday afternoon. Spotted my $5 kaleidoscope scarf amongst a heap of clothes on the couch and decided that it'd be perfect for a DIY skirt. The scarf is a large square one; I folded it diagonally and tied it around a couple of times, finishing with a simple knot in the front. So hobo. But seriously, you should try it with your favorite square scarf, makes for significant outfit versatility. And by that I mean you can just wear your favorite colors more often. Ha.
We were actually at the fabric store (Save-a-thon, East Harlem) looking for mini butterflies to sew onto a boring skirt. Been in a really DIY mood lately, but anyway, I ended up finding this pretty cool butterfly wing set (so fairy-esque! bright yellow and glittered!) that I tried on for some photos before I got yelled at by the store manager. Whoops. "This isn't Macy's but you sure can't take photos here!" Fine.
Also, the necklace is an old capsule collection item from F21 that I've decided can only be worn backwards. My top zips up in the back and I thought it looked pretty cool. (P.S. I know I've worn it like this before... ha).
